Several roadside parks, suitable for picnics, are located throughout the county. They are equipped with picnic tables, grills, and shelters of varying sizes. Many are located along our streams and rivers.
Pine Patch Park
The Pine Patch, named for its beautiful pine trees, is located eleven miles south of Hyden on Highway 421. Several covered picnic tables line the banks of the Middlefork River.
Greasy Creek Park
Nine miles away is Greasy Creek Park, a tree-lined area located on Highway 2009.

George Wooton Park
A unique park in the system is the George Wooton Park, located six miles west of Hyden. Its picnic tables were cut from native stone. A large shelter is available for group picnics.

Grover Sizemore Park
Another park located along the Middlefork River is the Grover Sizemore Park, six miles north of Highway 257. A large grassy area there contains a small picnic shelter and an area for play.

Mary Breckenride Park
Five miles beyond is the Mary Brekenridge Park, which offers a view of the Middlefork River, play equipment, and restrooms.

Riverfront Park
